Dorothy Clark, better known as dodie, recently began her tour across the country promoting her new album, Human. Human was released on January 18, reaching the top spot on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Album Sales chart. Dodie’s tour began in the beginning of September, with a stop in Houston at the House of Blues on September 23, and ends on October 11.

The first track on Human, Arms Unfolding, kicked off the concert. Dodie centered herself on the stage and let her voice silence the noisy crowd. Following Arms Unfolding comes Monster, the second song on Human. Once the music starts, dodie’s voice and energetic spirit captivates the audience. She, the fifth title on Human, was first uploaded to dodie’s YouTube channel in 2014, accumulating over five million views. While performing She, the stage is flooded with rainbow lights to celebrate dodie’s bisexuality. The rest of the songs from Human are performed on tour, along with a few previous releases.

Opening for dodie was Adam Melchor, a singer-songwriter from New Jersey. While dodie performed with a band, Melchor sung his heart out with just him and his guitar. Melchor performed an acoustic cover of Rihanna’s Needed Me, but the rest of the songs he sung were originals. Before each song, Melchor interacts with the audience and explains the stories behind his songs. Although his performance only lasted 45 minutes, many of the audience members fell in love with him and his music.

Dodie’s music career started on YouTube, gaining nearly 300,000,000 views and almost two million subscribers since starting her channel in 2011. Before releasing on Spotify, many of dodie’s songs were uploaded to YouTube where they have achieved immense success. Dodie’s bubbly personality and soothing voice is sure to contribute to the growing success of her career. Dodie’s music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and Pandora.
