When the school year says goodbye, so does the class of 2025. As they take their next steps into the world beyond high school, they leave behind words of wisdom for those still walking these halls.
Ameena Khan, Editor of the HiLife is going to Texas A&M University, majoring in Business, with hopes of going into AI Law or Finance. Under Khan’s leadership the HiLife has regained its purpose and voice, Khan has brought insight and excellence to every single page.
“Make the most out of all the opportunities that you come across in high school,” Khan (12) said.
Fabrizio Pittia, Staff Reporter for the HiLife, brought unfiltered truth to every story he wrote. Pittia’s writing challenged norms and sparked thought. Though Pittia isn’t heading down a traditional academic path, his journey is just beginning.
“High school is purposefully made to be exhausting. Don’t take it seriously,” Pittia (12) said. “The classes don’t exist to make you learn new things; they only exist to sort students out. Your performance at school is not indicative of how smart you are or how you can change the future,”
Olivia Varghese, class of 2025’s Salutatorian, is going to Georgia Institute of Technology, majoring in Aerospace Engineering, to hopefully one day Engineer at NASA.
“Everyone says to make sure your GPA doesn’t drop and it’s true,” Varghese (12) said. “Try your best to have the highest GPA Freshman year,”
Willa Bhagwandin, Center Defender of the Water Polo Team will be attending Boston University, where she plans to major in Business with a concentration in sales.
“Don’t sweat the small stuff; you won’t remember this in 10 years,” Bhagwandin (12) said.
Ziana Virani will begin her higher education journey at a community college before transferring to the University of Austin Texas at San Antonio, where she plans to major in Biology and pursue a career in dentistry.
“Don’t rush to get done with school, and have fun with everything you do,” Virani (12) said.
Sarah Dean will be on a Pre-Med path at Baylor University, majoring in Medical Humanities. She hopes to one day work in the field of infectious disease.
“Finish out every year strong!” Dean (12) said.
The HiLife staff wishes the class of 2025 courage, success, and joy. As the pages turn, and tassles flip, it is just a reminder that the story doesn’t end here, it just gets a better plot twist.
