To wrap up the 2021 football season, the Clear Creek Wildcats made it to the playoffs, ranking fourth in the district with a three to eight overall score. Creek football won games this season against Channelview, Clear Brook and Clear Lake.

The first game that was played this year took place on Aug. 8 against Oak Ridge at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe. It looked as if the Wildcats were set up to win the game but the referee made a bad call. While Creek was still in their huddle, Oak Ridge lined up, ran a play, and scored a touchdown. If the ref would have told Creek to line up, Oak Ridge would likely not have scored. The final score ended up being 28-24 with Oak Ridge taking the win.

“At the beginning of the year I didn’t think we were going to do good this year because of how we were playing,” Taylor Guerrero, senior football player, said.

Guerrero goes on to explain how they thought that they would do good this season but due to multiple injuries the team was not able to play to their full potential.

“It has been a long journey, we had a lot of ups and down during the season,” Guerrero, said.

In the playoffs Creek played Shadow Creek at Iowa Colony Freedom Field.  The final quarter of the game ended with Shadow Creek coming away with the victory and a final score of 45 to 38.
