First Day of School and the Solar Eclipse

Monday, August 21, 2017 is the first day of school. It is also when the Solar Eclipse moves through Houston. Parents of students in the Clear Creek Independent School District can rest easy knowing that their children’s eyes will be protected for safe viewing of the historic event. Thanks to community partners, JSC Federal Credit Union and the Clear Creek Education Foundation, the District was able to purchase more than 47,000 ISO Certified Safe Solar Viewing Glasses to protect the eyes of students and staff. Schools will distribute the glasses to students on the first day of school.
