Holocaust Survivor Shares Her Story

Hayley Johnson, Online Editor

Chaja Verveer (see above) is a child survivor of the Holocaust from the Netherlands who is now residing in Friendswood. Her parents (see above) had friends in the Resistance and she survived the Holocaust in hiding. Somebody who was hiding her, turned her and her family in and Chaja was sent to Bergan-Belsen, a concentration camp located in Germany. She was liberated from the camp and eventually reunited with her mother and three brothers. Sadly, her father was murdered. Chaja came to Creek to speak about her life and  experience at Bergan-Belsen.
